• Marianne Williamson workshop: Living a Miraculous Life (June 2015)

    London, 20/6/15

I have just spent the whole day with the inspiring, incomparable and magnificent Marianne Williamson, one of my most favourite contemporary spiritual teachers. What a miraculous day!

If you don't know who Marianne Williamson is I do encourage you to read her books ('A Return to Love' in particular) as they are such a healing balm for the soul. You might actually already know some of her work unknowingly, particularly a famous quote of hers that is, incidentally, commonly misattributed to Nelson Mandela:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”~ Marianne Williamson

I went along on my own this time and this morning as I was walking towards the venue and saw other people meeting up with loved ones and friends I had the thought 'I wish I had invited someone to come along with me today, I don't want to be alone, I really want to talk to and share this with someone I know'. Then when I entered the auditorium I scanned the room to see where I'd like to sit and I felt guided strongly to be at the front towards stage right. So I made my way there very intentionally only to discover that a dear client of mine of many years (who is now also a friend) was sitting in the seat just behind the one I'd had my eye on! I honestly had not seen her previously so this was such a surprise and gift for me. Within 10 minutes a wish I had wished for outside had come true! She later also surprised me at lunchtime by bringing me back a refreshing drink that I had thought about while she was gone and had not ever stated out loud!

Then the workshop itself was gorgeous, of course.

It also felt so lovely when Marianne asked "Who out of all you married people in this auditorium actually honoured your partner/ told your partner this morning how much you love or appreciate him or her? I was one of only four people who put their hands up in the entire auditorium and I felt so wonderful that I could do so with complete honesty as I had definitely intentionally taken 5 minutes out of my busy morning to have a meaningful cuddle with my husband (and cats! LOL) telling him how much I honour and love him and how gorgeous he is to me and thanking him for everything before I rushed out the door. This memory had actually made me feel warm and made me smile all the way to the station this morning and here was Marianne asking us if any of us had done something like this on this particular day!

Then at the end of the workshop I got to talk to a beautiful singer from Antwerp who was completely new to Marianne's work but who flew over just for the day to find out more about her. When she asked me about what I do I somehow felt compelled to only choose the bit about me that pertained to writing and teaching about soulmates. Out of all the various and numerous things I do I thought it really odd that I would've reached for that thought to mainly describe myself but when she heard this and said what she said next it all, of course, made sense. She said "That's so weird! The topic of soulmates keeps coming up for me recently and this is what I want to know more about. What it's the name of the book you wrote, I really want to read it!" Needless to say I gave her my business card and we are keeping in touch. This just highlighted to both of us one of the principles we had just learned about during the workshop: that all relationships in your life are destined and meant to be. What you choose to do with that relationship though is up to the both of you but your meeting was most definitely orchestrated! :)

There were so many other gifts and life lessons shared today with such a lovely group of people. I feel so blessed, peaceful and grateful for the many blessings and synchronicities big and small. Well it was a workshop entitled 'Living a miraculous life' after all so it's no surprise that I am left feeling this way! Life is really full of miracles if we just turn the volume up on love, light and forgiveness. Sending you peace and miracles and blessings if you are reading this ...especially if you made it to the end...I had no idea this status would turn out to be so long! LOL. Love & Light, Renee ♥
